The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Dhevasthanam is a religious charity organization in Malaysia. Proudly situated at No. 163, Jalan Tun H.S. Lee, 50000, Kuala Lumpur, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Dhevasthanam is also the oldest and richest Hindu organisation in Malaysia. Founded in 1873, it provides an important place of worship for early Indian immigrants and is now an important cultural and national heritage.
This organisation has metamorphosed since its inception to become the largest Hindu institution in Malaysia under the present honourable and distinguished chairmanship of Yg. Bhg. Datuk R. Nadarajah, PJN, DPTJ, KMN,AMN,PJK.
The Board of Management of Sri Maha Mariamman Temple Devasthanam administers and manages Sri Subramaniar Temple Batu Caves, Kortumalai Pillaiyar Temple, two Hindu Community burial grounds in Kuala Lumpur and two vernacular Tamil schools known as SRJK Tamil Batu Caves and SRJK Appar Tamil . In addition to that, the Temple management also manages other temples located in Sri Subramaniar Temple Batu Caves which are Sri Ganesar Temple, Sri Meenatchi Temple, Sri Sundareswarar Temple, Sri Venkatachalapathi Temple, Sri Anjenayar Temple, Saneeswarar Temple, Sri Velayutham Temple and Sri Valli Devayanai Temple.
This religious organization is the only temple in Malaysia that operates under the 1930 Supreme Court Order and performs the role of Hindu religious advisory to the Government of Malaysia in determining the Hindu yearly calendar.
